Mystery wires ** fixed**

Mystery wires ** fixed**

Postby Morksvigo05 on Sat, 23 Jun 2018 4:08 +0000

Hi guys I recently purchased a 2005 Hilux Vigo import ( private sale )i noticed the abs and airbag light was covered with electrical tape after the purchase was going thru a lot at the time and they done quite a good job at concealing it ..
My question is about the abs first ,I put it on techstream it has an open circuit on both LHR rhr speed sensors the sensors have good continuity and so do the cables going to the from the junction block in the middle of the diff
While I was under there I found cut wires but I can't find where they connect to ie can't find the other broken wires they connect to,
so I followed them it's on the passenger side floor wire there's a grey wire and a very light pink wire and they connect to a red and black wire with a connecter under the car some
Where so I'm looking for the cut red and black wire to no avail
So I followed the grey and light pink wire up into the cab along the passenger door and up the passenger side kick panel
The pink wire goes to a relay the grey to a ground point
And there's another wire
Yellow with red stripe surrounded in a black sheath
That runs along the other wires down under neath the car and it has a connecter on it a single one pin connector wouldn't have a clue where that runs to
But obviously under the car to
Please if anyone can help would be awesome
As I always travelling with my kids in the car and yeah yadayada
Or if you could check those wires on your vehicle
I'm sure they'd be the same between vigos and sr5s but not 100 percent
Cheers guys Mork
Not sure even if there aftermarket wires for something else
Just wanted to rule them out before replace abs module

The connector on the diff (BE1) is for the rear speed sensors. The connector under the passenger seat is connector BA2. (See photo below for location and pin outs)

You will now need to test continuity from BE1 to BA2 connector. So from BE1 Pin2 to BA2 Pin 7 (Yellow wire) plus the 3 other wires.

Note that the pink wire will turn into a yellow wire at the BA2 junction, where as the others stay the same colour.

SRS and airbag are safety related so you should really take it to a professional to fix.

Thanks mate only connections I have under the passenger seat is a wire coming out with 2 2 pin sockets but there no where to plug them in and they are definately factory wires ....
Trying to upload images but it's not working for some reason
Umm the pink wire I'm talking about runs from under the car up in the cab and is joined about 2 inches before the relay to a red wire looks like the previous owners been playing around a bit they are pretty thick wires I thought it could of been for a fridge or something
Definately doesn't look factory

As soon as I can figure out how to put images up
Might be able to make something of it
Cheers thanks heaps for the reply
Oh i followed the be1 connector at the diff and it leads to above the fuel tank and that's where I lose them

That is for the seat belt and optional seat heaters.

Yeah thought as much
When I took seats out yesterday the driver's seat had a wire to seat belt but passenger side didn't but
I'll rip it apart again and try again to find this ba2 connecter
And you say it's directly under passenger seat?
Lol don't know what they done to it or why
But deceitfull dogs to say the least

It will be under the passenger seat beneath the carpet. If you take off the floor trim seen in your photo you will see a bundle of wires then it will branch off to under the seat, just follow this.

Sorry to interrupt, but where did you get your circuit diagram flip9?
Did you just google it or do you have all the hilux wiring on file?

Cheers, Cam
