Blown main Fuse

Blown main Fuse

Postby Timmy L on Mon, 19 Jan 2009 10:02 +0000

I have blown the main fuse in the fuse box under the bonnet of my 06 sr5 hilux, has anyone changed out this fuse? or know of way to fix?
It is the fuse that has the copper plates all linked together. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Cheers, Tim

have you had any recent electrical work done to the lux? If not, i would suggest buying another one from a auto spares place, just take it in and show them. Flick a few switches and start her up and see if anything happens, if not, it should be right. But if it goes again a week or two later, maybe take it to an auto elec.

I have changed one, you cant change individual fusible links, genuine was the only option not very cheap either.

I checked every pull out fuse possible, they were all in order. Had to buy a genuine fuse block $280.00
Not the easiest fuse to change either.

Oldrev ; the fault found that caused it to blow was a loose wire from the fuse holder for my spotlights, wire earthed and blew fuse...took it back to company that fitted the lights, but no help in way of replacement of fuse.....

Tasibrett ; i rectified the fault before fitting the new fuse
