I was told that the reversing camera switch sold on ebay and also sold by Carbon Car Systems wont actually work on the DDX918WS , pays to check compatibility before you buy one.

Or just buy a two way rocker switch , connect the purple rear view camera SW wire from the stereo unit to the center pin , connect the Reverse wire (red / white under the steering wheel) to one side of the switch and a 12 volt positive supply to the other side.

Easy way to get rear view camera while driving.

Edit : if your reversing camera is powered from the reversing light or reversing beeper then you will also need to run a wire back from the above switch so it provides 12 volts for the camera when you want to view it while driving , which might require the switch to be 2 pole 2 way .

You don’t want your reversing lights to come on when you have rear view activated while driving . Cops might hit you with those big sticks.

Hi guys I recently acquired a Lux 2018 model and I would like to upgrade the head unit to the Kenwood ddx9918ws unit. My question is will I need to change the Fasica plate? Or can I use the original?

Cheers

It might be worth dropping Carbon Car Systems and email and ask. They get back pretty quickly.

I reckon it should go straight in.
