New head unit for 2005 KUN26R

New head unit for 2005 KUN26R

Postby deales86 on Mon, 02 Apr 2018 7:18 +0000

Hello everyone! I have a 2005 - 2011 model SR5 and want to update the head unit for Bluetooth, including a reverse camera. Does anyone have a recommendation? I've been looking around for weeks but I'd really prefer to get this right.

Don't like the look and feel of almost all the new Android/Windows double din systems. Would love to hear what others have done!!

Kenwood do a good one that fills the toyota hole without having to use those infill pieces

www.carboncarsystems.com.au They have a good range for the Hilux. I recently installed the Kenwood DDX917WS and as Spitfia has mentioned it has a custom shroud that fills the gaps and makes it look factory.

I have a Pioneer AVH series double din unit. Need the extra fascia pieces on both sides. It's a great unit, really customisable and functional. I would recommend it anyone. I bought it off eBay with a pioneer reverse camera.
The more fuel I use, the more fun I have!

I've had an Eclipse AVN726EA installed since new in my 2011, works perfectly, even with an Iphone6 connected to it (for music). If they are old enough they are free maps for life.

The later revision of this will fit the same hole (AVN827GA), here is one on Gumtree:

Here is one with a cracked screen (might be able to buy a new one):

There are plenty of cheaper ones around, most will need a decoder box for steering wheel controls though, it comes inbuilt into the Eclipse (Fujitsu Ten) units. They aren't cheap though.
