Security Isolation so vehicle can't be started/driven away

Postby EunG on Wed, 14 Feb 2018 2:57 +0000

Wondering whether anybody will share with me how to connect up some sort of security isolation switch on an '09 DIESEL to make it so that:

a) the vehicle can't be started (straight electrical isolation) OR
b) if started will only run before shutting down shortly thereafter (some sort of isolator in the fuel supply).

Something that can be done quickly & easily when you leave the vehicle.

Don't need to know where you've mounted your switch or how you've concealed it, just where in the engine bay or wherever to tap in to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you prefer

Don't think I can lock my '09 in neutral & am thinking I want to be able to keep the gears engaged, but rather isolate via a concealed switch.

Anybody else have any thoughts please?

Security Isolation so vehicle can't be started/driven away

Switch on the fuel pump solenoid (scv)circuit? Motor still turns over but it wont start, maybe enough of a deterrent?
Will throw engine light on if attempted to start with the solenoid circuit open.

Sorry for the slow response gold member.

Your suggestion sounds very interesting.

Would you give me some more detail as to physically where I would find that circuit to tap in to, what colour wires to look for etc?
