Thanks for the information guys, eventually got around to having another go.
Got it Working flawlessly, like factory :)

The Black wire next to the White/Black wire is either not earthed on my car, or its not permanently earthed...
So I ended up using the earth that was on the Windscreen wiper controls, which just so happens to be white/black too...

I have looked at my ECU and there is no wiring the E5-21. I tested the pin and there isn't any voltage on it either. Anyone know what the next thing to try is? I have the $29 stalk... Would consider putting in an aftermarket system is anyone can recommend anything. Thanks gusy.

It your light even in the dash? not on mine.

If you take a bright flashlight and shine on the dash while the car is off and see what icons yo have.

Hi guys,
Have just bought a 2007 SR dual cab manual and am looking to put genuine cruise control into it and was wondering if anyone had an idea of cost. Got a quote for an aftermarket command unit at $1190.

Cheers

mattx350, 2007 Hilux ECU doesn't seem to have the correct input/ outputs to do a genuine cruise setup.

Hey Guys,

I wasn't able to get away with the $30 stalk unfortunately... I have a 2006 3.0 diesel 4x4 manual SR. I think being the older ECU a lot of the factory wiring isn't there and the ECU isn't capable of native cruise control. I wasn't really sure what kit to get but ended up going with one from United Fuel Injection https://www.unitedfuel.com.au/shop-onli ... all-mod-(6). I think they also sell a lot of kits through ebay. ( http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cruise-Contr ... Swx6pYoVyA )

I couldn't be happier with the kit. Wasn't cheap at $630 but it is truly plug and play and within about an hour I was out driving around with both feet doing f*** all. It's an Autostrada E-Cruise kit and I would recommend it.

Hi I am a newbie here. I was googling for cruise control for toyota fortuner, and found this forum. I have a toyota fortuner 3L 3.0 Turbo A/T (1kd-ftv). I have bought a cruise control stalk off ebay - china. Plug it in and NOTHING. So I bargained another from GB which is scraped off from a lexus. Plug it in and still NOTHING!

So its been 5 months has anyone had any success?

Anyone managed to install it on a 2012 Hilux 1KD-FTV?

I managed to do the wiring from the bottom of the steering wheel pin 1 to ECU E5-21 and pin 2 to ground. But doesn't seem to work.

I checked it using the OBD it does detect the switch. but the "cruise control" is not enable it just detects the switches are working. Is there something I forgot? or not enough ground from pin 2?

Hey guys, so I've been tinkering with my manual 09 SR & a $15 cruise stalk from ebay. And it works! Although no dash light, still figuring that one out.
First and foremost, if you don't know how to use a multimeter and/or work on wiring, make friends with someone who does. You're playing near the airbag and the ECU and there is potential for a veritable shit storm if you mess something up.
Read Mike O's post on page 5 detailing wiring colours, locations, and states via conditions. Verh helpful info, thanks Mike O!
Being a manual, i found the clutch switch wiring tucked away down next to the clutch pedal (green and green with white trace), so bridged it out for testing purposes only.
I found that i had to splice and earth the brown wire from E8-28 as well as earth the white with black trace in the steering column.
Good luck, and make sure you solder and tape all spliced wiring looms and crimped connectors.
Will post again if/when i get around to getting the dash light to operate when cc energised.

MY10 2011 sr manual

Success!!!! $20 ebay cruise control stalk from ebay ran earth from bolt holding fuse box to white/black wire. All pedal switches were already in place. Just a shame the dash light wont work, if i shine a light at the dash i can see the word cruise in the top right so must have some provision for a light, but for now i am extremely happy. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread

First check if there is a switch at top of clutch pedal and a 4 pin switch on brake pedal if both are presant then pretty good chance that cruse is there. Next buy a stalk off ebay or similar i bought this one https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F233085640325 once i intalled the stalk i ran an earth wire from the body to the white/black wire in the back of the clock spring ... road test ... happy face

Read through this thread bud so much useful information

Good luck

Factory Cruise Control for SR D4D Auto

Postby Critter350 on Fri, 31 May 2019 6:48 +0000

I have the 4 wires on brake pedal but no clutch switch. 2007 SR KUN26.
Found these clutch switches on eBay, does it physically look about right?
Image
Above someone said the wires should be tucked up in there somewhere. There is an empty plug next to the clutch, but from this I would have expected the clutch switch to come with wire and plug attached.

On the right track?
