Removing cigarette lighter

Removing cigarette lighter

Postby tezza d on Sun, 24 May 2015 4:40 +0000

Hey all,

Anyone know how to remove the cigarette lighter socket? Driving me nuts!

I found this from Toyota service:
http://www.moranbahweather.com/toyota/hilux/repair2/html/frame_rm0000014uh000x.html

So I've managed to remove the panel, the cover on the back of the socket and the light bulb by rotating it out of the housing but just can't seem to remove the socket from the bezel.

Cheers, Tez.

Haha the puzzle you could make millions from. Just did the same today
1. Remove power plugs and black cover by releasing the 2 tabs

2. Insert 2 small screwdrivers on the 2 white tabs on each side.( You can see them inside the socket ) at the same time push the metal socket out toward the front

3. Remove the last piece by pushing in theses tabs

You can now do it within 30 seconds

Originally we all used photobucket to post images. They switched off free use this year so you can't view them. Admin got us ingHOSTR now so just updated.
