so has anyone got a new (2010) sr5??? and had the stereo out and has managed to work out what the reversing camera input is??? i know you can buy a camera kit to plug on but at $400 it is a bit rich..

AS far as the steering wheel - yes you need to swap the clock spring as well - behind the radio its the purple white wire and you will need a steering wheel interface. I've fitted a few cameras of late in the Hilux integrated into the factory 4" screen. Works really well.

Can you explain the process of fitting a reversing camera to late model hilux. ie what pin to plug into.

i did this mod myself last week. what you need to buy is the factory wiring loom which plugs on to the new stock sr5 deck. u can then modifiy this loom to suit any camera that you have, i simply soldered on a rc plug and then plugged on a reversing camera, do a search on this forum, other people have listed full instructions

The small connector facing the same way looks like this:

3 = No Connection **(Stereo Mute for phone kits)
4 = No Connection
5 = Left Rear Speaker + (Black)
6 = Left Rear Speaker - (Yellow)

Viewing the SR5 Radio from the rear, the left connector with 18 pins has the video connections. They look like this on the radio:

1 - Video signal
2 - Video ground
3 - +12V for video camara
4 - 0V for video camera
13 - Reverse signal (from reversing switch on gearbox - switch radio to video mode)
I fitted a switch to randomly switch +12V to the reverse signal, fitted a camera up front and can select between front and rear camera via switch or reverse selection. Works realy great!

Before i go out and waste my money and look like a dhead can somone correct me if im wrong but this is the harness that should need for an 05 d4d sr for a pioneer DEH-4350UB Cheers

Looks like it. The white connectors fit to the radio. Will the other side fit the amp? The first few posts give the pin configuration

I fitted an Audio Bank all-in-one DVD/GPS/I-Pod player in my 2010 Hilux. Wiring the speakers were easy, but wiring the steering wheel controlls are a different matter. Anyone out there who could assist in the wiring diagram for the steering wheel controlls (Volume, Channel change). Furthermore, once I re-wired the new stereo, the on-board computer showing your Fuel usage, averages and range (next to the clock) only display the current fuel usage, and cannot be changed from the sterring wheel controll on the right! - PLEASE help! Hi, might need an integration module to go between head unit and wires coming from steering. Can be sourced from eBay. Search for Hilux steering wheel, should bring it up

Hi Guys on this topic i have put the STD head unit back into the SR5 But it does not to want to work, No lights Nothing. I am at a loss i have put the test light in the plug and power supply is fine just nothing happens, the unit has been out for about one year not sure if thats the problem.any help would be fantastic.

In your first pin layout you have Right Front Speaker - Twice?? Think its ment to be left but we all know that :D

Hey mate, i just got a 2012 Sr extra cab and put new speakers in. was alot more of a job than i was lead to believe. i first just bought speakers thinking i could pull the panels off and wire them up to the existing wiring that i was told would be there. So i take it all off. there are plugs there for the speakers but the wiring is not connected to the head unit let alone anything. I could not even find the ends to the wire. what i did was buy a toyota plug from Autobarn and run all new wires for the rear speakers. i didnt use spacers i just got them in the existing bracket some how. I used a washer to grab the speaker to this flimsy bit of steel that is in there. not sure how the factory ones connect onto them. works sweet now but I probably should have done what they say here and put the front ones in the rear and got new better speakers in the front.

im a new member......just a quick question ...iv got a 08 hilux with a factory fitted navigation/audio touch screen..... i do have a aux button but i cant find the bloody port....does any one know where it is..?
iv been told its behid the unit but i havnt been able to find it.....help please!!!! cheers lads..

Hello, just want to know if anyone else has had my problem.... I have a 2012 sr5 Hilux and I am installing new speakers and amp. I pulled my factory head unit out to locate the speaker wires and power/ground/remote. I disconnect the wiring harness from the head unit and started to strip back the wires to solder the the new ones onto them and the 12v constant power hit the ground wire causing a spark and now I have no 12v power only remote power. I have checked my fuses and they all seem to be fine. Can anyone help out with some info or should I just take it to the auto elecs?
