Postby TreeFrog4 on Wed, 26 Nov 2014 1:29 +0000

i brought mirros off ebay for a 2011SR5. and they have different plugs to the original one... I'm no good with this kind of stuff so just wondering if i can just cut the new wires and solder to the old plug... the new (wrong plug) is on the right and old on left.. both have 3 wires so is it that easy???Image

Yes that should be fine, keeping in mind you determine which is positive, negative and indicator.

If it's the passenger side you are replacing the 3rd wire could be the outside temp sender wire

G'day TreeFrog, I am going through the exact same issue with my 2012 Hilux (albeit passenger side mirror). Do you remember how you wired up the different coloured wires?

Cheers
