I just got a reply from the ebay seller, all genuine OEM.

It's come in set, both LH and RH with turn signal, wiring and switch. It's $795 included express shipping to Australia. Automatic folding will be free upon purchase. And yes I'm the same guy in Facebook.

Might be able to get the price down if we can get a group buy going?

If you look at his listing, it gives the price in USD, and then the approx. price in AUD, which is about $650 all up. He has given you an inflated price for some reason.

Thanks for confirming 7 wire. Yep - that's the exact listing.
Given BH reply below perhaps these mirrors will retract

Thanks BH - given the loom in the door is there how difficult would it be to get the retracing mirrors to work in a SR?
Im guessing would have to run extra wire from dash to doors?
Perhaps a clever sparky could chip in

I too got the copies about a year ago. I noticed the same things as you pointed out. All fitment issues were around the base that mounts to the door frame. So I took the OE toyota mirrors and disassembled them. I ended up using the mounting base from the OE mirrors and the chrome mirror housing from the cheap copy. Just had to open the hole on the OE base for the copy mirror plug to fit through. Works a treat.
My 03/2013 sr5 had the wires in the door loom but not in the dash loom. I add the extra wires to the dash harness and the motorised function works perfectly.
I even added a courtesy light into the mirror housing and linked it to the interior footwell illumination accessory kit.
Unlock or lock the doors with remote or open the doors and the light stays on for 15sec. Should have been factory fitted IMO.

Great work PRS! :) Do you mind sharing how you ran wires to the dash harness - any pics of the loom additions would be awesome. That courtesy light is a winner mod too

Sure.
this is how I did it using the box that controls mirrors with lock/close - ign on/open.
Here is a quick schematic of how I wired it up.
Image

You can see I cut the blue/black & red/black wires from the plug and wired them to a new plug.
Image
That new 2 core wire then runs to each side footwell and has another plug joining into the factory door looms.
You can see where I cut them from the factory blue plug pins 1 & 3 in the pic.

Thanks Ben. Very clever. I had to take another look at my looms and plugs in the foot wells.
Yes - From the last pic of yours I can see 2 wires pulled out from the blue plug with the 2 empty pins.
This is the same in my SR - but only on the right hand side.

I dont have an auto control box - no blue/black + red/black wire. Is this needed or can the retract work by taping directly off the 7 wire switch loom?

From what I can see in my SR the switch panel loom is the same

Red - Red/Green - Light Green - Blue - Brown/Red - Black - Purple

Right Footwell Plugs:

Right Footwell Blue plug (red/black - blue black in 1 & 3) :

Left Footwell Plugs:

No red/black - blue/black wires. I can see some common wires form the switch loom but I'm not entirely sure which one (or one's) of these plugs controls the mirror tilt adjustment or retraction as they all appear to enter the left door loom.

Duetch plugs... nice :D

For the guys with only three wires at the mirror (early mk1 era) I'll have something for you soon so you to can fit these up. Just waiting on parts :)

Has anyone that has replaced their mirrors with folding one got any stock ones for sale.
I'm chasing a cheap passanger side SR5 mirror with indicator after smashing mine on the weekend.
After one that will fit a 2013 model.
Thanks.

So I havnt had time to play around with this with work travel and bigger things taking priority.
I found good wiring diagrams for those with an SR still wanting to do this though:
Position 9&10 are vacant on standard mirror switch
Standard Plug Loom.png

9&10 for Folding mirrors:
Loom Plug with Folding Mirror.png

And position 4&6 for L&R side mirror looms:
L Plug.png

All positions on L&R mirror plugs are the same

L&R Mirror plug positions:
1 Horizontal position
2 Vacant
3 Positive
4 Forward
5 Vertical
6 Retract

Looks like just need to run twin core from position 9 & 10 from the main loom plug to L & R mirrors positions 4 & 6...

Looking at putting electric folding mirrors with blinkers on a 09 SR5 and LED headlights and taillights, not just conversion kits. Any ideas out there? Hard to get gear like this prior 2015 models
