Thanks TRDLuxxy, I saw these to but they are over three times the price of the one boxbead suggested.
Probably all out of the same factory though.

Thanks, those listing's have been removed?

I'll probably buy from the ones Boxhead mentioned if the seller has re-listed them? and let you know the quality.

Guys - to save anyone else going thru any inconvenience - I can confirm that the cheap eBay copies are not made in Thailand factory. They are made in Taiwan.

Taiwan/Thailand... whats the difference?
Taiwan knock off: Build quality is less than average, mounting studs a little off and plastic mold distortions, resulting in poor fit.
I purchased from one of the suggested eBay listings - mirror tilt works, folding mirror function did not.
Seller says they sold me the wrong set although I'm not so sure they did.
(Cheap eBay mirror loom have 7 wires - OEM SR mirror loom only have 3. Checked SR internal door loom connection also has 7 wires)

Question is - is this not working because some internal wiring/connection is not present for SR models?
Not sure if SR5 internal door loom connection also has 7 wires or more?
(NB: I purchased and installed genuine retracting switch prior)

I got a refund less postage. So now I have a spare set of side mirrors with functioning LED indicators for the price of postage but I would rather have a fully functional retracting set.

I will be buying a genuine set if I can confirm they will work in SR - as SB says - got to be genuine.
Not worth the hassle going cheap
I can post photos of poor quality/fit and wire loom if anyone interested

No problem

Below: Taiwan copy:
Main loom opening unsealed
Main gasket around stud needs to be trimmed to sit flush on door panel - see OEM

OEM/original from SR:
20150210_071831 (Small).jpg

Comparison OEM vs Taiwan copy gasket poorly conforms

Fitted copy about a 3mm gap: (another 2-3mm gap at bottom not shown in pic)

Firm pressure required to close gap:

7 wire loom on copy:

Genuine mirror retraction switch:

Behind switch panel - 7 wire attachment into genuine mirror retract switch:

What I can say is that if you dont mind the cheap molding/seam impressions, trimming the gasket, sealing the loom opening, filling the external gaps with sealant and if the retraction function actually works it isnt too bad for the price.

Can anyone tell me how many wires into the back of SR5 panel mirror switch?

7 wires mate. Thats on a 2013 SR5.

I cracked my left mirror chrome case and indicator glass on a tree and thought of upgrading to folding mirrors because of this. But for $700 its further down the list of parts i need/want.

Thanks for confirming 7 wire. Yep - that's the exact listing.
Given BH reply below perhaps these mirrors will retract

Thanks BH - given the loom in the door is there how difficult would it be to get the retracing mirrors to work in a SR?
Im guessing would have to run extra wire from dash to doors?
Perhaps a clever sparky could chip in

I have sent a message to an ebay seller who deals with genuine parts for a complete set of LH/RH motorised and auto folding including the interior switch.

See what he has to say.

I emailed him tonight asking for a discount for a group buy and he said the price is as cheap as it is getting.
No harm in asking I suppose.

If these are the ones you are talking about, then I just read the listing, and it says you already need the folding mirrors for it to work, you will probably need to get the controller as well.
