Lightforce Striker 170 VS Narva 225 Combo

Lightforce Striker 170 VS Narva 225 Combo

Hey fellas.

Looking to put a set of driving lights on the hilux. I've read a looot (too much to read) and these are the 2 I've narrowed it down to.

What I have not been able to find is much info on the LF Striker 170's with the spreader filter on them.

From what I've read the Strikers will give a longer distance beam than the Narvas but the spread wont be as good as the Narvas.
Does anyone have the Strikers with the spread filter on them, and how good is the spread?

Considering I can get the 2 Narvas for $260, or the Strikers for $325 + $30 for a filter for one, are the Strikers going to be worth the extra money?

I like the LF 170's for their smaller size, I have a genuine alloy bar so the bigger Narva lights on it might look too big, maybe not.

Narva Pros: Cheaper, Good spread
Striker Pros: Smaller, known to be very powerful

Unknowns: Narva's volume of light, Strikers spread ability

I have not used or seen either of these lights in use. Can someone who has please sell me one way or the other

I've had both lights
My view on them are
Lightforce nice small size lots of spread for a spot beam the spread beam is useless they have the range of a dolphin tourch
Narvas great spot beam useless spread beam heaps of spread from the spot beam
These are just my honest views on both lights

So what you're saying is they're both good as spots & don't bother with spread
Did you find one was clearly better than the other?

I have had the Narvas and they were a good light, I think you will find they have a better spread but LF will have a better pencil beam distance so depends on the terrain you are driving in as to what suits best. Tight windy roads a spread is of more use than a pencil beam.
If it were me in your situation I would go the Narva and with the money saved get a HID kit for them and you will have the best of both worlds
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

Yes movin I found that the spot beams gave more than enough spread
To be honest I found the narvas better and they looked better on the hilux as the lightforce lights were alittle too small

If your going to pay $355 for lightforce i would spend an extra $150 and get the narva 225 hids, the price of those has dropped down to $495.
I had the lightforce 170 on my old truck with a spread filter as well and they were good then, but they are crap in comparison to the 225 hids i have on my lux now.
The 225 hids are a combo set and give a good spread and about 800 metres of good light that you can make out eyes and movement (roos obviously).
Plus lightforce bulbs don't last that long either.
