2006 Hilux electrical problem

2006 Hilux electrical problem

Postby snaz45 on Sun, 08 Dec 2013 9:27 +0000

Hi all,

Just a question for you all. I went to the supermarket this morning, everything was fine on the way there. When I came back, I realised my windows wouldn't go down, aircon wouldn't work, indicators are out and the speedo doesn't work either (god know what else doesn't work).

Has anyone experienced this before? What might be causing the problem? Fuses all seem fine, and I cant think of what else.

Cheer in advance,

I'm guessing fuse or relay behind the glove box

Does your reversing light work?

I'm not 100% sure but I think I vaguely remember coming across a similar problem in the past and it was the reversing light that had shorted causing the fuse to blow and affecting the same as above as all are connected on the same fuse

Three fuse block locations - one near the battery in the engine bay, one behind the glove box, left hand side(you need to take the glove box out to get to it), one under the steering wheel

Had this happen to me the other day it was the ecu fuse under the steering wheel.. I was towing don't know if the extra load could have caused it!?!? Let us know what you find..

just dealing with the same problem, its the ecu-ig fuse under the steering wheel, was driving up a steep slope in the woods then noticed the abs light came on, the engine light came on and the ac system stopped, i have tried all sorts and gone through about 30 fuses trying to fault find!!! all seems fine when the fuse is in and the truck is started up but as soon as you drive forwards and start accelerating it trips out, driving me nuts, why the hell did toyota put so many important circuits through one 10A fuse AAAAAAAAARRRRRGHHHHH
