HID LIGHTS - Thinking of installing HID's in new '08 SR5, believe they are really good, anyone had any experience with these. (Useage that is), I won't be doing the work myself.

Do some research (google) before going any further...
You may find that HID upgrade for the spot lights would be better option.
Cheers

Hi Spill
After seeing a HID converion kit in action in a mates car I am going to be fitting a set very soon.Because the Hilux has no centre reflector you will need to have them set up right (pointing down).
I will be fitting a 6000k kit nice white light.

Yes this kit is to replace the existing headlights, just under $500 fitted. Will check back with them about reflector angle and power.

Beam angle concerns me, if they don't get that right, everyone suffers.

I'm dropping off the lux there tomorrow so I'll take a gander at the product. Local auto electrician at Hornsby. Jeeze, just looked at your list of mods ... you could be that guy in the SuperCheap commercial

Finally had those HID headlights installed, I've gotta say they're awsome. Real white light. The brand is Lima, not sure of the exact price, had some other stuff done at the same time. Believe it was round $400.
I got the 6000 Kelvins, anything higher starts going blue. The blue'er the lite the less distance the beam travels. Very happy.

We have Hi/Low H4 HID's in our Hilux and a hugh improvement, the problem we had was we have Hella Ralley 4000 HID's and when we use to go down the low beam the lights we terrible (we had 80/100w globes).

We worth the money but if you go HID's in you head lights and not you driving lights you will be disappointed when you go on to high beam.

We use the Phillips 4200k kit.
