Custom rocker install

I've managed to get a number of these working without too many issues. I've got a '13 Hilux SR5 and just used the positive diagram supplied with the switches. I tapped the illumination wire (blue/yellow?) into the dash lights line on one of the pre-installed OEM switches (traction control from memory). To find the right wire to tap in to, I just put a meter across each terminal on the back of the switch 'till I identified the correct one.

Geebung, I have a similar switch wired up to a Narva harness for driving lights.
The best I could do was have dash light illumination when high beams are on, then switch ON lights when button is pressed and spot lights are on. I had to wire pos to neg and neg to pos from switch to harness.

Yeah the best i've been able to do is to get the switch light on constantly, wether on or off. Tapped into the cig light illum wire using the positive diagram.
Will have another play around on the weekend with this. Have never found electrical stuff hard but this has really got me buggered.
Thanks blokes.

As I mentioned previously, to get the bottom LED to come on with the dash lights, I just tapped into the illumination line of another switch.

To overcome the issue with the top LED on all the time, I added a 1A diode to the wire from switch to relay.

I have a circuit diagram I got with one of the stitches I bought and the diode is shown on this for negatively switched headlights. I will scan and upload the diagram in a while.

Tried every combination still can't get the spotties to work. Fog lights work fine though.

Custom Rockers have them. Something similar may also be available on Fleabay.

Custom Rockers, NewPro-Tech, AOB all sell similar switches. I have bought from the first two and the switches are very similar.

If it is an led you could get away with a 10 amp switch. But a custom back lit light is not rated anywhere near that so you will have to run a relay for that reason

Yeah it's a small led light and the switch is rated to 20ah so it should be fine, I just can't work out what wires go to which plug on the switch

Where is the best place to splice into the dash lights wire?

Drivers side switch panel near the door, was kinda hoping there was something easy up under the steering column

On later models there is a removable panel under the column that gives access to heaps of wires. Good chance you could find something in there (if you have the panel) with a multimeter or a test light.
