Where to install a UHF

Hey guys, I bought a GME remote head UHF for my Lux, I didn't want it under the seats in case it got wet in a water crossing (has never happened to me, but don't want to tempt fate), so I fitted the head on the centre console just in front of the low range lever.
I don't seem to have much space under the console (it's an auto), so I screwed the main unit to the back of the console above the ashtray.
After it was installed I realised it didn't have a built in speaker, and I used the two most obvious spots for the radio itself.
Any suggestions as to where I could mount a speaker?

I've got the same GME TX 3520 with the remote head......the base unit is installed on the right kick panel....and the head unit is installed on the console just behind the gear lever next to the handbrake lever. The head unit is easy to access and the speaker in the base unit is high and dry and easy to hear.

FWIW I installed mine originally in the ahstray compartment. I have a hard time hearing it so got an external speaker which now rolls around the cab
Ive decided to now go a roof console ( should have done that in the first place but tried to cut corners). But atleast Ill be able to hear it its safe and dry and wont get the speaker floating around any longer.

Above are the reasons i haven't got a hard-wired UHF yet, looking to get a roof console at the same time.

I might try the kick panel, I'm trying to avoid a roof console, had one in my old 4Runner and was forever hitting my head on it.

i made up a bracket for my GME tx3540 and mounted it behind the glove box on the passenger kick panel, found a blank bolt hole and then ran the remote speaker mic through one of the switch blanks next to the cigarette lighter. check out my build thread for pics. i got an extension speaker but havent had to use it yet, i can hear it fine from under the glove box.

Mines wedge between the centre console and passages seat, drives me insane

My hand held sitting in the phone cradle was easier and mobile.

I zippy tied an external speaker to the cross bar that runs behind the dash next to the radio. It works well and is unseen

I done the same as this with a TX3540. Looks really tidy and don't have any dramas with speaker volume or clarity

Mounted mine with Velcro tape up high under the passenger side of the dash behind the glove box. Still going strong after 30k km. Had to run an aux speaker across to drivers side though as it was a bit hard to hear.

Mounted a uniden 7760 with the controls on the microphone in front of the 4wd shift with Velcro
Out of the way no holes and doesn't affect the sound

+1 for ash tray for me , my cb is frikken loud as but you can also depending on your model aux it into the rear of your head unit depending on what you have mines a aftermarket one... i found with the ash tray i had to rip out all the runners and plastic bits inside though so its a one way road if you commit to it lol

I used double sided tape and stuck it on the drivers side of the centre console giving you access to all controls on the UHF. I screwed the hand piece bracket into to of the original switch covers under the ash tray. It works well with no damage to the dash

Uh7760nb. Brain and second speaker in behind drivers kick panel under dash. Handset with mic , speaker and all controls all in one, just to left of left knee under steering wheel. Less cockpit space the better IMHO.

So after a couple months of daily use I have found the steering wheel mounted W1 remote that came with the 3520 to be hopeless..........the PTT always sticks and you only realise this once the CB is very quiet......
