I have a vague recollection these lights switch the negative, you may need to fiddle round with a voltmeter to identify the correct cable and its voltage.

My IPF's came with a diagram for negative switching, do you have a option with yours.

Red with yellow trace is the switched negative supply on the left and right hand light that turns on high beam.Black is positive on the right hand light and red is positive on the left hand light, both the black and red wires have power all the time.Connect the red with yellow trace to pin 85 and the red or black wire to pin 86 of a relay, pin 30 via a 20 amp fuse to the battery and pin 87 to te positive of the spot lights.Regards Richard

Richard, thanks for this info. Might be an oldie, but it's a goodie! Got confused after I got all my wires ready to hook up and had to come upstairs and track this post down and all my questions were answered. I added a switch between the red with yellow trace wire and pin 86 and all is good!
