Still waiting for someone who has OEM cruise control on their auto and manual Hilux to give us their ECU model number so we can try to sort it out from that. Does anyone out there have a manual Hilux with factory Cruise? If so what year model?

Hi there.

I've got a 2014 Hilux 2.5 D4D D-Cab manual. but no factory cruise :/

thats why i'm here. to find out if its possible to make it happen on this car

i've bought the switch. found out that it does not work on its own altho the wiring appears to be there.

i' have contact with the switch trough the steering wheel (spiral?). but still no CC working :/

First thing to check, do you have 12 volts on E5-21 connector pin?

I have fitted OEM stalks to 3 of our 2010 2wd D4D Hiluxes successfully.
2 of them were fitted with clutch switches from factory And 1 I had to fit a jumper to bypass where the switch should be. The key to making them work is that you must earth the white wire with one black stripe from the clock spring plug behind the steering wheel. The wire is the lower left wire in the plug.
I have also fitted a LED to the instrument cluster on one ute to illuminate the cruise wording when switched on.

I have an 08 D4D Auto with factory cruise. Where's the ECU?
Cruise control was a must have when I was looking at Hilux's.

Yes the number on the side of the ECU. On my hilux I can read the side of the ECU just by removing the glove box.

I'm still on this.

I've bought a generic cheap ass china scantool with Toyota Techstream software.

hooked that up the the OBD port in the hilux. and found it that the ECU has cruisecontrol and that its active.

but still does not work..

wierd shit.

are there diffenrent switches (meaning that they look the same, but works diffrently)

hm. then it should work.
anyone on here which are familiar with the TIS system? and know if there are ways to turn on/off things in the ECU?

when i go into the Crusiecontrol ECU, i don't get anything. no errorcodes or nothing. meaning it should work (in my mind atleast)

Who out there uses the AP900 cruise control on their Hilux's. Are you happy with them, pros, cons? I am about to pop for one from England for about $390 US delivered with CM35 stalk. They tell me it will work with the Toyota stalk that I bought of Ebay but that I will need their CM35 stalk to set up the unit. Then I can train it to the right hand Toyota stalk. They will refund me $50 when I return the CM35 stalk bringing the price down to about $340 plus whatever postage to ship the CM35 stalk back.

This tread looks old, I would be keen if this cheap install works. Has anyone had any luck? I have a 2007 hilux SR auto.

What Boxhead says if your ECU supports it.
From the repair manual:

CCS (E5-21) - E1 (E7-7) G-W - BR
Cruise control main switch signal Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

If you don't have this signal on E5-21 of your ECU, then an add on cruise control is possible.
I would guess most Australian Hiluxs probably have this this signal after some model year but some Thai built models like my 2009 do not. I just installed an AP900C on my Hilux in USA, cost about $280 from a US supplier.

I've already connect wire from E5-21pin (CCS) to spiral clock at S13-1, and S13-2 to ground and E6-3 (Cruise Illumination) to combination meter C8-28. I already got voltage 12V from E5-21 pin, but then, my cruise system is still not function.

Can anybody help me is there missing connection for my hilux 3.0l (A/T) 2012 model.

From the diagnostic post above, do you get the voltage measurements with each stalk action? Cancel would be 6 to 10 volts etc.
