Well it has leaked everywhere (with the weak push on caps described in the posts above)

Totally unsuited to 4wd - acid all over the place on the first offroad trip.

Back to BCF....

Contact century and complain about it.

Wrote on century batteries Facebook page that mine has leaked and the wrote back straight away.. then called me and told me to take car to nearest battery world..
Sounded like they wanted this sorted out right away also didn't care that I was using a marine batt as second batt in 4wd, he said it shouldn't matter it's dual purpose..
Also asked about damage it has caused.
He said use bi carb soda to neutralize batt acid

Can't argue with that service, albeit a bit of a round about way to get there ;)

Took it to battery world today.. They tested it removed the batt and sprayed some acid neutralizer stuff everywhere .. battery world said they have been told to replace it but the same problem would happen again so for a extra 50 they gave me a AGM instead :D

just bought an sr5 and I'm looking to install an auxiliary battery. I'm going to go with an optima yellow top but don't know which one to get. probably just going to run a fridge and maybe some led lights when camping.

I got the TJM tray, and it will hold a D27 yellow top. If you want smaller, you can get the d34 (about the size of the original starter)

Well I'm in the market for a new battery now as well.
Went out this morning to leave for work a few cranks and then click click...
I got just shy of 7 years out of my factory cranker.. Not bad, would consider replacing with the same if the genuine ones weren't so expensive..
Threw it on the big charger for 5 minutes and she fired up like new, 30 minute drive to work and didn't even charge as it wouldn't crank over again.
Got it home this arvo by just removing a lead from the aux battery and jump starting myself.

bit late to be asking advise after you bought one, you will be the first to know if it isn't any good. Just cause one bloke gets a good run out of a particular battery don't mean all batteries with the same sticker on will perform the same.

I know the yellow top optimas seemed to hold up well in the dump trucks in the extreme temps and conditions in the Pilbara, we were changing the fleet to them, 6 in each truck for starting, in the 11 months I was on that site I had one fail and that was because the fitter pulled the holder down too hard and warped the battery while the trucks fitted with cat lead acid were ploughing through them.

I have a yellow top optima that was installed in the car in 2006. It's still going strong and I'll be selling the car on soon so I won't know how much longer it will last before it dies.

I originally installed it as I used to enter the car in sound off comps in the day so needed a battery that could keep up with it with the engine off and it did with no issues.

I'll buy another one tomorrow. I think it was around $300 back then.
