can i use sr5 bumper light wiring for HID spot lights?

Hi,

I have just bought a new sr5 hilux dualcab and fitted a Tuff bullbar which has done away with the bumper driving lights. I was wondering if the factory wiring loom will handle 35w HID spotlights i want to fit onto the bullbar. The original bumper lights are 51w.

If so, can i change the trigger on the steering column bumper light switch from park light to high beam?

Thanks Guys,
James.

would be easier to just wire them up properly, and at the same time get some decent size cable to run your lights..... the larger the gauge cable you run the lower the voltage drop and the better your lights will perform
Cheers, Ryan

JAMES,
I used the standard wiring for the fog lights as my issolator switch and pulled a trigger from high beam. That way I did not need to go in to the cab to add a switch to issolate. Also you get to use the fog light indicator on the dash when the spot lights are energized ready for the high beam trigger.
Works well.
