Future Modifications

Other info:

200 000km: trouble free motoring up to now, just replaced all injectors

220 000km: alternator replaced

230 000km: spiral cable for air bag replaced. $500 replacement cost ( this later was declared a recall item and i was refunded the money by Toyota)

250 000km: Hilux went into limp mode which happened shortly after steinbauer and taipan exhaust went on. Fault code was relating to boost sensor. Solution was to refit steinbauer unit with boost control. Extra $700 but solved the problem.

280 000km: fault code P2008 (58) - Intake manifold runner control circuit (open/short/failure). Hilux went into limp mode at speeds of between 80km/hr - 100km/hr at 4500rpm going up hills or under load. We could even get it into limp mode in first gear up hill at 4500rpm. Solution was too have the inlet manifold removed and was sent away to be pressure cleaned.
Removed and replaced with new EGR valve assembly and gaskets. Replaced all vacuum lines to EGR VSV. Removed and replaced with new MAF sensor in air box. Replace air filter (I had an air filter from taipan exhaust)

290 000km: fault code P1251 (34) - Turbocharger stepper motor circuit (intermittent fault). Hilux went into limp mode after stepper motor failed. Replaced turbo at a cost of $3500.

325 000Km: Turbo Oil drain back pipe to engine block gasket leaking oil. Removed and replaced leaking gaskets. $148
