Is there a second-hand market for tubs and trays?

Postby Markdavo on Thu, 24 May 2018 6:56 +0000

I'm considering a 2015-17 ute or tray back and will have a canopy installed.

Is there a second-hand market for tubs and liners, and trays?

Thanks, Mark

If you,re after one, most dealers and 4WD places have piles of them out the back. :)

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I wondered if I could sell the tub that will be removed from my Hilux?. It appears not.

Thanks, Mark

The removed tub is worth money, but as always, it depends on condition. I got $250 for my VGC extra cab tub, when I removed it for a tray. If you have tray liner/sports bar/hardlid etc, then add $$$'s for those.

The more money you ask, the longer it will sit around.

Search on here, and Gumtree, for options

If it is a 2015 older shape tailgates and lights are worth money. New shape stuff is dime a dozen.

The Hilux I looked at today is 2015 compliance. It has a good condition extra cab tub and lights, and a genuine Toyota tub liner; they should be worth something.

Cheers, Mark

Extra cabs are worth more then dual cabs because they are rarer. But your only taking a couple hundred bucks really if you find a buyer.

I think it also depends on if its the J deck tub or the smooth sided one

Anyone reading I still have a 07 extra cab SR5 tub in 040 white floating around.

Had planned to make it into a trailer till I found my bike didn’t fit.

I just changed from a tub to tray on my SR5
I ended up smashing the tub up and taking it to the tip.
It will depend on where you live also if anyway buys it I am in Darwin , I had my SR5 tub with tailgate up for sale for $100 not one enquiry.

I still have the taillights ,roll bar and rear step for sale.
If it has tits or wheels ....it'll cost ya money
