TRD owners question.

Postby TRD303 on Fri, 15 Dec 2017 1:16 +0000

Gday all,

I own a 2008 TRD build 303.

My trip computer is showing very inaccurate fuel consumption and range readings.

Trip is showing 10.8/10.9L per 100km when actual is 18/19L per 100km.

I get around 330-350km to 65L.

Each time i refill the range on trip will read 565/580km.

I have been using the same servo, same bowser and traveling to the same destination/distance,at the same time of day.

I have reset the trip after 1 tank after 2,3 and so forth and does not seem to change ( always settles on 10.8/10.9l/100km ).

I'm thinking the trip computer or ecu (not sure how it works) has not been calibrated for the bigger injectors installed by TRD.

My question is: Is your TRD trip computer fuel consumption and range very inaccurate also?

Cheers.

Hey mate,

I also have a 2008 TRD

Rest assured my trip computer does exactly the same thing. I have no idea why. Doesn’t really bother me that much but it would be interesting to know the answer.

I get approx 420-450ks out of a full tank of BP Ultimate. That is loaded with tools full time

Hey,

Ahh..i think i may be on to something with the injector calibration thing. :D

Damn..i only carry a canopy most of the time..and always city driving (no hwy) wish i could get 400km from a tank :(

On a side note..i just serviced my supercharger, needle bearings etc, and needed to get a new silicone foam seal that goes around the intercooler..what a PITA that was! Very hard to find. If you ever need to service, try not to damage it.

Thanks for your reply mate.

Love my TRD :D

Cheers.

Most parts should still be available through Magnusson in the USA of their Aussie distributors. I wanted a new pulley for the crank as I wanted to build a new pulley for the air compressor drive. Was easy and cheap.

Hey mate,

I did contact Magnuson for the intercooler seal.

They asked what supercharger i owned, told them it was a TRD M90..had no contact after that. Should have said Magnuson MP90 maybe? Tried to contact again with no reply.

I did end up finding the silicone foam seal from a place in Sydney tho.

Cheers.

Tom from Bullet was very helpful.

Also Mace ,who supplied my needle bearings/oil were great to deal with.

Will checkout VCM.

Cheers HK.

VCM are the Aussie distributor for Magnuson. It is where my kit came from.
