Steinbauer voltage settings

Postby Cinan on Fri, 30 Jan 2015 6:38 +0000

Hi guys, I have a Steinbauer chip which seems to not be cutting in as much as it used to. I was going to check the voltage settings on the feed wire form the accelerator on the weekend. Can someone give me a guide as to the voltage I should expect at 2,000, 3,000 and 4,000 rpm so I can compare mine to see if I need to reseat the voltage sense wire.

thanks

I have checked the unit this morning and the orange LED doesn't come on which means there is no voltage from the sense wire as I understand it ?

When I check the voltage coming from the sense wire through the engine bay (I have put a connector in the engine bay so I can remove the Steinbauer for servicing) it is reading the following

1000 rpm - 0.8 volts
1500 rpm - 1.08 volts
2000 rpm - 1.20 volts
2500 rpm - 1.23 volts
3000 rpm - 1.32 volts
3500 rpm - 1.4 volts.

Something tells me this is too low.

I have the sense wire connector to the blue/white wire coming from the accelerator pedal unit.
