Get a metal clothes hanger, rebend it to a straight wire with a loop on the end, tape the cable amd use that to draw it through. Worked great for me when i was stuffing around not getting anywhere for hours using other methods.

I just drilled a big hole in the firewall and put in a new grommet with heaps of room to add cables.

Remove the rubber cover. Push wire through cover, then through firewall. Reinstall cover.

My favorite tool is called a splicing fid, used by net repairers so can be picked up at marine places, it is a conical tube like thing starting very small and gets bigger, push it through then feed the wires through but make sure you remember to remove it afterwards especially if it is in someone else's car.

Coat hanger and insulation tape, through it goes. About a 5 second job.
