Another newy

G'day I'm Brendon, I just bought a 2005 dual cab SR5 4.0L V6 manual.

Its pretty stock, I'm going to do the 2" lift (though I want to raise the front mostly as I don't like the nose down look, I measured the heights from the bottom of the rim to the tops of the wheel arches and the rear is 75mm higher.
If I went 2" lift just in the front would that level it out? I'm thinking of the Tough Dog 2" kit but dont know if I should bother raising the rear if the rear will go too high.)

Then I'd like a roller locking tub lid (keep or sell the canopy), steelies with dish and some 9" spotties and thats about it

I'm in Coffs Harbour NSW

Just a few tips:

Use the search function that has a pointer to it saying "SEARCH HERE". This uses google search and its your friend, it will produce allot of threads to questions that may have been asked before. If you find something relevant but hasn't exactly got your answer try posting your question in that thread first.
This will help everyone in keeping the forum organised.
But being the helpful bunch we are, most will try to help the best we can.

Cheers
Shawn

Image Welcome to the forum Brendon :D congrYs on the new ute. There's a few threads around on here aimed specifically at levelling out the a Hilux stance. Just a note, don't read into the difference in measurement between the front and back when measured at the wheel arches to much. The wheel arches are different shapes and have different design heights for carrying loads. If you make these measurements the same, you will be pointing up hill and it will handle like a bucket of poo. A better reference point is probably the front vs back of the side step or sill to the ground (assuming it is straight) you still need to have about 1" or 25mm of rake (nose down) in the car to make it stable under braking and handle well.

This forum contains an almost endless array of knowledge about the Toyota Hilux and over the years a lot of topics, questions and issues have been addressed. In order to get the most out of the forum and in an attempt to try and keep the information in an organised (well semi  ) manner, please utilise the search function at the top of the page and ask your questions or contribute to existing threads as much as possible.

Here are some useful links to help you get the most out of this forum.
