Liqui Moly diesel Purge

Postby squah on Tue, 02 Sep 2014 10:28 +0000

Hi,

Just did a purge as per Liqui Moly suggested. Engine with 150k km now more responsive, idle quiet and more importantly the 2000 RPM rattle is less noticeable. Will do a Techstream check and compare injectors before and after treatment feedback values. I will post results shortly.

Its good stuff, I had the same results. Plug it straight into your input fuel likr before the filter and suck the can dry

Will be interested to see the results also. Pretty sure its applies something like a lubrication film to the internals. Be interesting to see the results and for how long they last. Even at 'once in 5,000ks its still a decent outcome...

I did the same although used in-line fuel filters as adapters for connecting clear tubing on both lines entering the bottle..... as the purge ran through the system I could see junk clogging up these little filters (http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... 0203#Combo) ..... Awesome product and perfect results... the inline filters went from fluro orange to a black sludge after one bottle and the car felt great afterwards... less noise, more responsive... though no difference before/after on the feedback values . Also ran the active 'fuel test' now and then (using techstream) to get the pump at full pressure to speed up the cleaning... not sure it was a good idea but seemed to work well as it really got the juice flowing...

Just did a scan, attached is the before and after results re injector feed back values.
before:
inj vol 10.41mm3/st
inj feedback for idle 2.39 mm3/st

inj1 FB vol -1.1 mm3/st
inj2 FB vol 1.7 mm3/st
inj3 -0.7 mm3/st
inj4 -0.8mm3/st

after purge
inj vol 9.68mm3/st
inj feedback for idle 1.09 mm3/st

inj1 FB vol 1.0 mm3/st
inj2 FB vol 1.1 mm3/st

I have just tried 1 bottle (0.5l) LM Diesel Purge, looks like some improvement. I will try a second bottle sometime later.

Can someone point me to these directions. I can't figure out which pipe is which on my fuel filter. The last time I did it I think I must have used the wrong one. Rather than returning to the can it seemed to be going to the tank which means it used up the tank in less than a minute. I was expecting half an hour or so from the can. Would appreciate if someone could tell me what pipes to use or give me a link to the instructions.

Thanks, M.
