Steinbauer module upgrade

Postby petejohnson2242 on Thu, 31 Jul 2014 1:12 +0000

Hi guys!
Looking at installing a steinbauer chip to my 2013 hilux which already has a 3 inch straight through exhaust. Diesel care have informed me I need a new module because the d4d has issues with overboost when the module is used in conjunction with a 3 inch exhaust. The price difference is quite considerable $1600 for standard module and $2270 for the new module. Has anyone installed one of these chips in there lux? Is there considerable power/torque increases and how is fuel economy?

Hi Pete yeah have the steinbauer module in mine difference in power and torque is great as for fuel consumption depends mine went up for the first week only cause I couldn't help myself and had to see what it was like but driven normally overall fuel consumption went down as you don't need to accelerate as hard.
worth the money in my opinion.

Pete, please use the search function before starting new threads, there is already a huge amount of info on the Steinbauer chip on this form. Here is one of the better threads.

viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3730&p=45821&hilit=Stein%2A#p45821

And here is the basic search result which covers just about everything

search.php?keywords=Stein*&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search

Please ask any other questions you might have in one of the existing threads.

Thread locked
Cheers Rod
