That sort of ABS problem was very obvious in cars 20 years ago. I remember exactly what you describe - push as hard as you like, but ain't nothing gonna happen !!!
My current car is fine on dirt, but obviously the big T has chosen not to get up to speed. Might have to revisit Boxhead's info if it becomes an issue for me.

As does mud Shamat, if your worried about having all the latest safety gizmo's I would sell the one you have and buy a newer model. As boxhead said, its not just a few plug n play boxes, the rear brakes are completely different and would most likely require an engineer inspection to make sure everything was done right (legally for insurance reasons).
