ECU Firmware Upgrade

Postby Sacred Cow on Fri, 25 Apr 2014 6:29 +0000

My January 2007 vehicle with the D4D engine has not ever had an ECU firmware upgrade. Can someone please tell me what the firmware upgrade actually does so that I can make an informed decision on whether to get it installed? Does it have any bearing on the range of injector compensation codes that the ECU can handle?

Thanks
Glenn

Glenn the upgrade was to reduce fuel quantity under 60
Deg c after the injectors were replaced to dlc injectors. This is indicated by two dull white dots on the top of the injectors. If you injectors have been replaced it should have been done.
Mostly due to cold start rattles.
Easy to check at any toyota shop. And you can remove number 4 injector plug with the intercooler still on to verify the two dots.

Hope I have helped
