difference between diesel and petrol gearbox

Hi guys do anyone know what is the gearbox ratios of the current hilux diesel D4D and V6 4.0 4x4 petrol and did anyone do a swap between them can the 2 be interchanged ,what is the difference between the 2 boxe`s .

Manual or auto? you didnt specify......

And with Toyota's, the engine ECU's are mated to the gearbox ECU's in one unit...so if your doing a gearbox swap more than likely will need to reprogram the ECU which might equal $$$$.

Happy to be proven wrong, "might" work in M/T's but the auto's are computer controlled so I think you will have less luck with it.
