Hello everyone, I have a 2008 SR5 with the 2TR-FE(2.7l vvt-i). It has just broken 95,000kms and I am due for a belt change at the 100,000km mark.
During its life span, being owned by the family since new this ute has never given us any problems other than a dirty MAF sensor which I clean religiously along with the K&N air filter. Other than that we have only had to change the valve cover gasket, oil is always changed on time and unfortunately the factory long life coolant was drained and replaced a few years ago as we did not realise the Hilux in our country came with the long life coolant.
Recently, around 93,500kms I have noticed that the ute has become a bit lazy. It requires more throttle to take off from a stop and in the lower rpms it isn't as responsive as it used to be. The MAF sensor was thorougly cleaned but the problem still persists, the throttlebody is also very clean despite never being removed/cleaned before. Idling seems to be the same although I cannot say that with 100% confidence as I don't remember what it used to idle like before. What may be the cause of this issue?
Also, what do you Hilux gurus recommend servicing/changing at such mileage?
