Ticking from starter motor?

Hi guys
I'm getting a ticking sound from what I think is the starter motor when I turn off the car or leave the car in the "on" position
Car starts fine... is this normal?

Dude thats your turbo. The stepper motor makes that noise as it runs a cycle when ya turn the key on. Does the same thing when ya shut it down.

Hahhha im by far no mechanical. So the stepper motor is the black thing on top of the turbo?

Sure is man, if ya look at it thru the wheel arch and get someone to turn the key on ya should see the actuator arm moving.

Mine doesn't make that sound. Sounds like your picking up Morse code.
