Can't see anyone beating this price, great value and I have zero affliation with Berkley. Just sharing the value

The new Domin8r 4WD exhausts by Berklee are Australian made in Ballarat.

http://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/special ... haust.html

- premium 409 grade thick walled stainless steel, This is the perfect grade stainless for 4WD exhausts. 409 is the same as expensive vehicle manufacturers use because it is more durable and can stretch and flex under the heat and vibration stress. It can be welded with most welders in the bush and offers excellent rust protection and heat dissipation properties. We use stainless hi flow catalytic converters and 409 stainless mufflers as well.

- includes everything you need for easy DIY fitment with dump pipe through to tail pipe, to save you expensive workshop fitment costs. For 5 decades Berklee have been known for their easy, accurate fitment.

- come with threaded sections welded in ready for either factory or aftermarket exhaust gas temperature and oxygen sensors to be fitted.

- Berklee have pioneered their special “pipe through flange” design which offers simpler, more accurate fitment and even better gas flow.

- high flow 3 inch diameter and mandrel bent that turbo diesels really need.

- large diameter dump pipe included straight from the turbo. This massively aids exhaust gas flow which improves economy and performance.

- quality stainless steel high flow catalytic converters and specially designed mufflers offer huge improvements to gas flow.

- We go the extra mile and use 10mm thick 4 bolt flanges with heavy duty gaskets. Some manufacturers use thinner 2 bolt flanges.

- specially designed heavy duty, premium quality hangers – one of the first things to fail on off road exhausts.

I've got one. Fitting it tomorrow so will see how we go.

From everything I've heard, they are awesome exhausts for the price.

Would love to hear how you rate this exhaust ( noise, figment, quality, performance) as I'm looking at fitting a 3" to my 2015 sr5 in the coming weeks.

Hi Knight, is the quality the same in real life as it is in the pictures? All the welds etc look nice and tidy?

Would love to hear your thoughts once installed

Thanks
Ivan

I fitted this exhaust to my late 2011 SR5 dual cab auto. Fits great, tucks up nicely unlike exhausts ive fitted to other cars.
Not loud which is great for a daily driver that doesn't want police attention. Turbo spools quicker. No drone inside cabin.
The 4 bolt flanges and pre-fitted o2/pyro bungs and price are what made me go with this exhaust.

Just thought I'd chuck up some pic of the dominator exhaust I fitted a couple of weeks ago. Mine's the mild steel one but it is basically the same as the SS.

I'm really happy with it, it fitted really well and looks well made. Its slightly quieter then the 2.5" straight pipe I was running but thats just because it has a massive muffler in it. Would be real easy to get a piece made up to eliminate the muffler as it is in its own section.

Ive noticed a slight power increase and I recon Ive dropped about 1L per 100kms in fuel economy. specially on long trips.

Hey dudes,

new to the forum and just getting in to 4wding. Bought an 09 hilux d4d and wondering how this exhaust has gone on your trucks? Did anyonenotice much torque/power/fuel economy increases? Anyone had a dyno tune post install? Cheers.

I'm not a fan of 3". I've heard to many reports and experienced myself a loss of power and torque at lower revs.

imo, an exhaust change is only for noise. if you want power or economy improvements, spend your coin on a good tuning module. 1KD Performance, Just Autos or Baileys Diesel will sort you out

there was a 1KD engine tuned just recently that makes 250HP and they're still using the stock exhaust!

There's a bit more too it than that packeteer. Yes an exhaust on its own won't turn your Hilux into a rocket ship, but you will get a gain. Same as putting a bigger turbo on with no other mods, same as a chip, ECU module with no other mods, bigger Intercooler with no other mods, etc. you will get improvements but your not unlocking the full potential of said mod. I bet the above 250hp motor would make more if it had a free flowing exhaust, or it would make it easier.

every Lux is different and there have been a lot of changes over the last 10 years. maybe this is why some people report improvements and others do not ??

I love mine!! Got the exact zorst. Nice note after deleting the muffler. Its more pleasurable to drive plus my economy improved by 20-30kms per tank. 08dc sr5

I just took my muffler out too. makes a nice noise difference. Has anyone had problems with the turbo overspooling? Mines having no issues with it but lots of people you talk too seem to think the 3inch dump is too big

what diameter is the dump pipe?
is the muffler 'straight through'?
cheers

Is there any reason why people don't do the whole lot to include the headers? I'm happy to receive an education?

3inch dump pipe then 3 inch all the rest too. Yeah the muffler is a straight through design too.

Were talking about the turbo diesels here, so there really is no headers. the exhaust starts at the back of the turbo.

So would I be right in saying that if we were to increase the diameter of the exhaust manifold pipes then we wouldn't get the high dynamic pressure required to spool up the turbo? Cheers

Well... no, because all the 'dynamic pressure' starts and ends at the turbo and is controlled by the variable vanes in the turbo, so 3" pipe just lets it all breathe AFTER the turbo!

The main reason guys loose power at lower revs is the 3" dump pipe. To put it simply "it's too big" for a 4 cylinder motor with a variable vane turbo.

I have a 3" king brown exhaust from pacemaker exhausts and it has a 2 3/4" dump pipe 5" long. I had a 100 cell metal substrate cat added.

On the dyno: I gained low end torque, with an increase from standard along the entire rev range. Also it smoothed the torque line out.

On the road: I can defiantly notice the difference from standard, as it no longer feels choked up and now pulls uphill easily without dropping to second gear down the m1 to Sydney or on the way back home.
It also doesn't look for gears like it did before the install.

Yes, I will cop abuse over my view on the subject but this is MY opinion with the knowledge and research (my own) and a mates, who tunes and works on high powered v8s and turbos including diesels all day everyday.

Like they say cue Megan trainor, "it's all about that back pressure" haha I had to.
