I've had to add a cushion to the alloy pipe to stop a rattle on the on the exhaust manifold heatsink.

Also, I've had the Provent installed for over 3000km, but not a single drop of oil in the outlet line. How much normally accumulates?

Fix didn't work, still get a rattle at low revs.

Sure it's not the relief valve in the provent? Cause it sounds like a rattle at low speed and particually when you decelerate.

Good point! I didn't think of that. It is at low revs/decelerating when it happens; however, when I added that extra bit of rubber the sound changed a bit. Will make a recording.

It will be the valve mate. The one i had fitted to my first hilux was bolted to the guard behind the airbox which made it louder cause it reverberated through the panel.

Thanks GeeBung I noticed that but does it stay there without popping out?

What engine oil are you using? Maybe that matters??? I use penrite HPR 15w40... maybe the heavier oil doesn't fog as much??

Hard to say, every engine is different but it sounds like you are lucky.

Time will tell though, maybe check at 10k intervals?

That sound is the spring for the pressure relief valve, I fixed mine with high temp bearing grease.

Yep sure will. I put grey RTV around it when i do it and it definately doesn't come out and it is definately waterproof also.

Finally got around to doing my EGR thanks to this forum and put in a catch can. I originally got the provent 200 but couldn't fit it in my 2010 SR and the stupid inlet bung made it impossible so I got a provent 150 with a rotating head and it turned out alright. I forgot to get a photo with the inter cooler off but here are some pics anyway.

I used part of the old hose to help with the angle and wrapped it in insulation foam and tape to stop it rubbing.

I'm using whatever Toyota uses under capped price servicing. I don't have my manual, but isn't 15W-X a bit heavy?

Thanks! I feel better that its rattling due to the valve rather than vibration on the hoses!

When I bought mine from western filters, if i rememver correctly, the bloke said should get at least 40000. He said you will see oil leaking from around the top lid when it definitely needs to be done.

I saw a stainless filter element on ebay once that you can just wash and reuse. Not OEM but designed for the provent
