Guys i have just sourced a 50l water bladder made specific for the 2005+ hilux dual cabs at a reasonabile price
It was a result of a production of water bladders for the hilux army vehicles in saudi arabia ,i have one of the first ten produced in the post as of friday and will take plenty of photos of the install which im told takes very little time,i have contact details etc if anyone is interested in one they are australian made. They mount behind the rear seat on the existing hardware ,i do have photos of the original type but have not yet posted them.

Hi guys ,i have been liasing with manager at flexi tank today and has assured me there will be a special price for hew hilux memebers in the form of a group buy,All sales would be best directed to our new online store, www.ftaustore.com, and by ordering through there all clients will receive 15% discount + free freight until the end of april. The product code they will need to buy is PW50H which they can search for via the code or through the 4x4\SUV flexitanks link on the home page. I will install mine this weekend and post photos asap .
If you want to get a group buy price PM me details and i can liase with manager for best price and he will arrange a special deal for us at new hilux .

So do the newer Hiluxes have a smooth wall behind the rear seat? My 2000 model has the jack and the long rod for the jack behind the seat. Therefore some bits of metal sticking out. Not good to put a bladder up against. :(

i did ask the manager re earlier models and he advised me they have been designed for the 2005+ models and thats what they have been tried and tested on.

Just checked out the pics then, this is the product they are talking about https://ftaustore.com/products/50-ltr-u ... -tank.html The only thing ide be worried about is a sloshing noise when half full etc and it breaking on something??

Also leaving the water in a hot car, are we sure there will be no (and i mean zero) taste from the material its made from??

Cheers, Josh

the manafacturer has been in the industry along time and the taste quality of the water is assured as long as it is not left in there for excessive long periods ,fresh is best with any water storage ,Flexitanks make bladders in which they export wine in shipping containers were taste quality is paramount ,i cant yet speak from experience as i will only be installing mine this weekend but they have had the water bladders for other model 4x4s for quite some time ,time will tell !The new model i am lead to believe is slightly different from picture.

No worries mate, just having a second look at the tank and it appears to have built in dividers to help stop the sloshing sound im assuming. I couldnt agree more about having the water fresh and the tank would be empty if i didnt need any at that time (also saving weight). If you could post up some pics of the newer model (im assuming thats the one your installing???) and get a good price for us then im happy to put my hand up and be the first one on here to try one out, apart from yourself of course

Water bladder turned up today ,looks a little different than photo as it has a protective cover over the bladder made from silver tarp type material to provide additional protection,i will install tomorrow and post up photos, looks very easy to install.

please advise if bladder interferes with seat bottom lifting and or top seat fold mod if you have done that.

Cheers Drew
