No leaks and the sloshing is no issue after probably 5 trips away. I would suggest emptying it out every trip though which you can do by turning the tap on, going to the opposite side of the car, reaching up behind the seat and lifting up the bladder in order for it to drain out. I am still having issues with plastic taste though and as I've said in previous posts I am using the same hose I always use to fill water jerry cans which give no plastic taste. All said and done I still think it is a great product.

Hi guys

just an update. I've been in contact with Gavin and he has provided me with a new discount code for newhilux members, which is for the whole range of 4x4 flexitank's not just the 50L hilux bladder. Also they will soon have diesel tanks available in the 55L and 75L options for across the back seat area.

New code: 2012hilux

This may be a nod question, but is anyone suffering with condensation on the outside of the bladder. It concerns me with it back there, it could start to rust out the wall behind the seat.

Dual cab behind seat water bladder

Postby BEN_SR on Sat, 16 Jun 2012 4:14 +0000

Hey guys,

I just thought I would share something I did with my water bladder to get rid of the plastic taste.

I pretty much tried everything on here: baking soda, vinegar, vanilla essence but the missus still complained about the sh*tty water. And yes I do use a food grade hose (blue) for filling the tank.

I found only once the water had sat in the tank for more than 4 days the taste and smell would become unbearable. Before that it would be fine, and the longer it sat there the worse it got.

I just use one of these filters to fill up a 15ltr water tank for drinking water:

It's called a kemflow and it's used for taste and odor removal in caravans. Found it in supercheap. But you might be able to find it elsewhere.

After the water goes through it, no issues at all with taste or odor. Seems to do the trick nicely and has done for the last month or so now.

Only down side is that the flow is ridiculously slow given there is not much pressure behind it. You have to wait a while before it will fill anything more than 1ltr.

Just thought I'd share.

Cheers

How much water volume are people getting out of their bladders?

After a few trips away I was thinking "hell I've been using 50liters very quickly." So last night I filled it and emptied it out, I even went to the opposite side to the tap and lifting the bag behind the seat in order to drain it as mauch as possible, and the grand total was (drum roll).....30L!!!! I run a baby seat on one side and the car was level. Be glad to hear what people are getting from theirs.

i also run a canvas seat cover which was on the car when I got it. I'm just trying to think of all the contributing factors which may cause loss of volume.

Removed baby seat and have been able to put a fair bit morein, although it didn't feel like 20liters. Will measure the volume another day as heading bush tonight :D

Just dropping a line to say to be careful not to bump the tap when touring as I emptied abuot 15ltrs into the car last camping trip which was all the water I had left. I had to pull up the whole floor on one side and dry it out :x I'm thinking of putting a second tap in closer to the bladder.

Sorry Jack no experience with that. you might want to bump your comment so it gets read
