To get rid of any taste's in tanks / bladders put a small squirt of vanilla essence in there, fill it up and mix-drive, let stand then drink or empty

Taste is really plasticy BUT I didn't flush it first. I will put some more water in it and go water the lawn with it a few times to see if this improves. I did also use a garden hose to fill but the taste was bad, however I survived.

Do I recommend it: Yes.

Oh I almost forgot to mention that I run one baby seat with it and no problems. I just made some padding from inner tube to cover the clip that attaches to the anchor point. Also no leaks from pipe fittings either.

try some lemon juice in the bag to remove any taste it works well on the camel back bags

I beg to differ on the garden hose as I used to fill my water jerry cans up with one and had absolutely no taste from it.

Bad plastic taste has virtually disappeared after filling the tank half up, driving around for a week, emptying on lawn, and then doing it a few more times. ;)

I Ordered one of these online. Went to fit it the other day only to discover that the outlet fitting already had thread tape on it. I didnt think much of it, and attempted to fit both the inlet and outlet fitting. The outlet fitting was so loose that it would not do up regardless of how much or little thread tape i used.

Has anyone else had this problem?

The small amount of thread tape already fitted to this fitting tells me that it had been returned previously and they just resold to me. I assume there is a sticker on the inlet fitting saying something along the lines of hand tight only, even this is unreadable indicating that someone has tightened it other than by hand.

To say that i am unhappy is an understatement. I have emailed them and it has been over a week and no reply.

From an engineering point of view (i am an engineer) the outlet fitting has both a tapered pipe fitting and it seals on a small flange. With a small amount of tape (as mentioned in the instructions) the tapered thread just does not engage enough to be able to do it up. The small flange bottoms out and with the smallest tap the fitting falls out.

Any Advise.

Sorry but nothing like that on mine.

However mine, contrary to my earlier post, still has a very strong plastic taste once more. Also had cloudy water come out of it, even after flushing last trip

Havnt read through all this post but noticed this and just thought Id pass something on incase you havent tried it. When you fill it run the water for a minute or so before filling the bag. I was adviced that it can be the water sitting in the hose that causes the bad taste.

You should fill using food grade hose. 10 meters about $25 @ bunnings.

I did see the suggestion about the hose earlier on but I have always filled my water jerries (before the bladder) with the sam ehose and no bad taste results. I am hoping this taste goes away with time. Am off in a couple of weeks so will flush a few times before and report back again. I mean I can put up with the taste but I'd prefer it better
