It'd be easier to get an impact socket in there than the vice grips.

All Toyotas get the exhaust nuts siezed on the studs, common as mud.

Like everyone else said, heat, penetrant and caution, hopefully it won't pull the thread off the stud.

08' SR5 Dual Cab, Manual.

Forgot the brand but it was the strongest I could find called "super penetrant". Read about it in another link here that one the boys here said to spray it and leave it over night but no joy. Got to fly back to work in a few days so I'm taking the easy road and trying to book it in today at the exhaust shop to replace or loosen the nuts. Then I can check with the scanguage to see if there is any difference in torque and performance with the straight through 3" system. Cleaned out all the carbon from the inlet manifold yesterday :shock:

but forgot to fit the scanguage first to compare the numbers after the clean. Definite change in performance and response for me. Just wish there was a guaranteed safe way to delete the EGR and I'd be that little bit closer to having the truck finished.

Mine is about as old as yours (2008) and I used CRC 5-56 for a good day and a bit and they came off easy. Sucks that your having so much trouble with yours.
How do you measure performance gain with a scan gauge?

Just got back from dropping it off at the shop. Always get that feeling i'm being screwed whenever I leave my car to have work done!
Was thinking by judging better performance if the turbo kicks in quicker, runs cooler and (if I fitted the scanguage earlier) better fuel consumption. Not expecting much but have read from others on here that it releases more torque between 1800 - 2500 rpm's.

From reading a few threads it seems that when fitting 3 inch zorst the egt bung is in some cases omitted from the system. My question is - Will it still run ok without the plug connected? I thought it would throw some codes if no egt signal was detected.

There is no EGT sensors fitted to stock exhaust.

With regards to the dump pipe, my 3 inch scott's Rods system dump pipe has to suit the turbo exhaust so the inside diameter of the dump pipe is roughly 2.5 -2.75 inches. (Im guessing I didn't measure it). Then it goes to 3 inch.

As for performance I noticed the turbo spools up a little quicker but zero fuel gains as of yet.
