Do you need to be running a secondary fuel filter when running the 2 stroke oil? I haven't got that yet and don't want to f*ck anything up.

I was going to try this and even bought some Castrol 2t oil but I have heard of it f$@#&% up supply pumps and injectors, also melting pistons. Thoughts? Info seems to be mixed when Google searching the topic

I've been doing it for 40 000km now on the hilux and 20 000 on the prado. Feed back values perfect rail pressure spot on. I only run the toyota filters and change them every service.
I can not fault it. Quieter engine and the lube of critical parts you can not go wrong. Trust me I was a non believer but I am now a convert.

Is a synthetic fortified oil ok boxhead? Just went by the JASO-FC rating (valvoline 2T) as suggested above in the thread but looking it up on the internet it says it's synthetic fortified.

I even looked at that today but i couldn't remember exactly what was on the label from your picture and also it didn't have a JASO rating that i could see. Rookie error!!
I'll definitely grab that one next time then.
Thanks boxhead your advice is greatly appreciated.

Hmmm...... you know BH, my mate, by being involved in this practice, it really gives this creditability.
Sounds like you really believe in this.
I have never put two stroke oil in any diesel engine, that I have owned, that's all.
Do you think it's worth it, for the extra money involved, BH?
It's all good, it's not a trap.

I have tested standard diesel with 2 stroke oil and straight caltex vortex diesel. Both have about the same effect on the injection rattle.
So I usually just run vortex diesel and keep a 1L bottle of 2 stroke oil in the ute for when I'm traveling and can't find vortex diesel.

Roo.
Try it. You will be as amassed as I was

I was the biggest skeptic as I read it on this forum first up.
So I asked the toyota trainers and the denso rep and all agreed in that 200:1 amount it would quite the motor down and lube the components.

But you would not use it in a vehicle with a dpf and the tail pipe emissions would not be nice for the environment
.

Again I have customers using 200:1 in 1vd 70 and 200 landcruisers and they are also loving it.
