Diegothecat

Did you get the baby seat anchor point done at safe-t-ride?
I'm keen to get a bolt for the back of my xtracab for the new addition.
Also what baby seat you using and how is the space in the back? Some pictures would be awesome.

Cheers

yea got it done at safe - t - ride, shame the guys there didnt use a level as its not very square but works all the same. If you get one id be telling them to make sure its square and to use a level so they know not too stuff it up.

I think its called a DC9 or something and im using a Safe and Sound child seat, they are a little more expensive but have good safety features. But here are some pics

It also comes with a rubber cover for when the seat isnt installed so the rear passenger doent bump their head on it.

Great idea shame toyota took this option out of the vehicle even tho the previous model had child seat anchor points.

Yea it took me a while to look around for some one that would fit one that would work and Im happy with it, now i can take the little fella out and about with me. :D

Dluxv6
nah they cant do with the lack of room behind the seat, I was hoping for an option like that but this is the only option that can be done. I believe that the dual cabs go behind the seat and same with the previous hilux model.

This works but looks a little weird when no baby seat is installed, which doesnt bother me at all.

Yeah mate dual cab go behind the seat like the other model but it can only go behind the passenger seat or a bracket has to be made to fit elsewhere

Not too sure Toyota wouldn't tell me much but they replaced the whole gear and pinion but unfortunitly it is leaking oil atm and needs to go back.

Hi

Your Hilux is really looking well rounded, well done. Would you mind posting some pics of the how and where the rock sliders mount on the chassis, I want to build similar ones and just want to make sure of that.

Thanks

Hey SA

Thanks for the compliment, If you look this thread it show you the idea i used. When it comes to exact locations for the supporting brackets just line them up with suitable holes in the chaise. if you still need me to take some pics I can do just let me know.

Good luck on making them there not too hard.

Thanks, for the feedback, I would however still if possible like some pics, as I am still not certain, do they bolt through the chassis, or do they just bolt over the chassis?

Thanks

I decided to bolt through the chassis but you can bolt over if you like. I had to bolt over on the passenger rear bracket due to the fuel tank being in the way. Ill try and get some pics up soon.

Hi Diego,

Sorry to be a thread digger, (as other forums often label you as when you reply to thread more than 1 month old) but I had a few questions about the seating arrangements you made in your luxy. I'm about to purchase a new hilux and will be driving about 2hr a day next year to uni so first thing I want to do is change the seats. Can I ask what brand of seats did you use in the front? I know this got asked before but I couldn't see an answer.

My other question is did you end up reupholstering the rear seats, and did this make them any comfortable or was that just to fit in with the front seats?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Oh and by the way, I guess you could say I'm mechanically/DIY challenged and was wondering if you have some idea of where to get new seats installed and where you got the engineering cert done.

Cheers

Hey Christian

Funny thing with this site is you will never be called a thread digger, they actually get the shits if you dont lol.

I used 2002 WRX seats in my car and i find then awesome to drive in. I actually have the xtra cab so i didnt bother re upholstering the rear seats but prob will when i get a dual cab.

As I have no idea where you live i cant give any ideas where to get seats fitted but Im sure most mechanics or 4wd specialists like ARB can do them for you. Im sure oyu can pic up a good set of seats on ebay from time to time.

Good luck you wont regret it.

Thanks diego,
Yes I'm getting the idea that this forum is one of the more inviting ones. Similar to tacklebox which I'm also on. Rightoh, that sounds great, I'll start looking.

hey diego

quick question about the baby seat anchor point - did they have to drill through the back of the cab for the bottom two bolts, making it visable from the outside of the cab?
