Building a completely custom 4wd long travel suspension setup, waiting on parts and hardware to arrive from the states and the machine shop.

Fox Performance 8" 2.5 Remote DSC reservoir, uni-ball upper and lower mounts.
Eibach 2.5 Coil-overs
Fox 2.0 Hydraulic bump stops
Generic limit straps
Uni-balls, cups, heims, misaligned spacers, clevis heims (steering rack end), grade 8 bolts etc

Boxed arms, custom up right (spindle) that is shortened 50mm compared to the factory one.

Lower arms will use original bush and alignment nuts, outers will be horizontal uni-ball
Uppers are heim joints with camber/castor adjustments the outers will again be horizontal uni-ball
Shock tower raised 50mm, uni-ball upper shock mount with bracing for upper and lower joints.
Lowered inner upper control arm mount 50mm
Bump can and limit strap will mount in the original factory location.
CV axle shaft and steering rod will be lengthened 75mm

We estimate a modest 16" of total travel from bump to limit, have measured more but I'm being modest, 3" wheel track increase

Very nice, what is the advantage of lowering the upper control arm, fitting a more positive rim?

Such a sweet looking rig mate. Need more photos. Engine bay looks mint. What kind of work have you got done to it and does the front mount cooler make a huge difference.
cheers

Less upright (spindle) flex, less leverage, less stress on joints etc... Its still a maybe though just depends where the centre of gravity is to the roll centre, too much gap and it will handle like a boat!

I noticed a difference, much punchier acceleration if that makes any sense?.. Don't have any numbers to prove that though! Just a stock 1kd at the moment if I get myself up to Nambour it will have a piggyback ecu and nomad valve body.

Bought them from the US, 4wd.com from memory. Saved about 40% including international delivery.

Thanks, Are you going to keep that -50 offset with the wheel track increase?

With the long travel setup? No. I am keeping the 0 offset NV and going slightly wider arms (75mm) than what the -50 offset rim is (70mm from the hub face) if that makes any sense?..

looks mint buddy but kind of hard in the pics to see how the front flares work with the doors almost looks like you must have to enter dukes of hazard style !
