Bugger didn't know about those seal kits with free shipping. Was only on their site not long ago as I was looking at their underbody protection. MONGO

I found out about them by accident. Only fitted it today. Seems to seal ok, but there is a little gap in the bottom corners and at the space where the tailgate catch is.

Like your dual battery and water separator set up Bob. Was going to fit a second battery under the tray on mine so I could fit a separator, will steal your idea now im thinking. How are the Bridgestone's going. Asked for Wranglers on mine went to pick it up and they had Yoky geolanders on it, defiantly not made for the amount of dirt I have to drive to get home.

Hanno,

The filter is good there, because it is easy to get to, and you can see the clear bowl by looking through the grill. The bolts holding the filter on go through the panel, with a nut holding them in place, then the filter goes on with another nut to hold the filter on, that way the bolts stay there and you don't have to dick around with them if you remove it to change the filter element.

I would recomend, if you do it like this, that you use steel tube for the 90 degree bend through the panel. Mine is ok at the moment, but i can imagine that once the fuel lines start getting older that they may kink and cause a fuel restriction. Sooner or later I am going to replace mine.

P.S. The bridgestones are going fine, still look new almost, but they haven't spent a lot of time off the blacktop. The main reason I bought them was because the bridgestone dealer was prepared to buy the HT tyres that were on it from me

PHAT Bars mk 1 transfer case protection plate.

Paul sent this one out to me to find out what I thought of it, I don't think he is selling them yet, but it probably won't be long until he does.

Love your build mate.
Do you have a link of where you got the ultimate 2" lift and how much dollar coins it was?

Hi HLUXRY, thanks,

Ultimate are a forum sponsor, they give a discount to newhilux members. Their shop is in Ingleburn in Sydney. Here is a link to their 2" lift thread in the sponsors pages.

viewtopic.php?f=42&t=11003

And here is a link to their website.

http://www.ultimatesuspension.com.au/

They really know their stuff, and are easy to deal with. They will work out with you what you need and send it out to you if you cant get to them.

Cost me just over $2000 for them to fit, but the price in their thread is $1700 plus freight if that is what you want. Give them a call when you are ready.

Thanks, jaydo,

I have almost got it to the point that I want to get it to, but I think that if you keep reading newhilux then a build will never end.

A few more things to do.

Put an anderson plug in the back for the fridge instead of the cigarette socket,

And then start thinking about diff locks.

How good are they spray on liners! I got the speedliner in pretty much the same colour, love it. Been looking for a good pic of the black arb bullbar on the silver hilux, cant decide whether to colour match or get black. Looking good

Yes the liner looks good, and I have only heard good things about Rhino. Was going to get speedliner, but the only guy that put it in local to me dicked me around and I lost all faith in him, so I got the Rhino instead.

I got the black bar because I wanted to match it with the other black barwork. Some people like the colour coded look, but I like how mine has turned out.

Finally got around to doing the back seat mod today. Don't really know what I am going to put there, just thought that I would do it.

I am a bit disappointed with the amount of room there, with the middle seat belt retractor taking up most of the gap. There is also a big plastic panel on the back wall to dress it up. I am sure this takes up some room too.

Why would Toyota put this panel there, behind the back of the seat where it can't be seen, unless they expect this mod to be done. And if they expect it to be done, then why don't they just do it in the first place.

I installed a UHF radio the other week. A GME TX3345. Tiny little unit.

The speaker is surprisingly good considering it is not much bigger than a 50c piece.

Not a fan of the phat bars transfer bash plate, the rear part of the plate has no support and isn't single/double sheared. Rhino liner looks mint!
