Thought i might start myself a build page....wishing i had some more/better photo's of when i purchased the lux.
The JYELUX is a white 2012 SR5 dual cab diesel auto. I purchased it used from a Nissan dearler in Melb, it had 4500k's on it and a few extra's, ARB deluxe winch bar with some cheap and nasty SCA spotties fitted, Toyota hard lid, tub liner, tow bar, headlight and bonnet protectors, weather shields on the front doors and 35% tinting on the front doors (privacy tint is factory on all rear windows). Drove it back to Adelaide the same day with the "boss" in the passenger side, I had a smile from ear to ear. Averaged 10.9 km/L on the trip and could have made it all the way home on the full tank the dealer payed for, i was stoked.
Well how bout i get on with it. Here's some pics the next day of it sitting in my drive.
note the SCA spotties, found out a couple of days later that they wer'nt even connected, wires were just taped to an existing IPF lume.
So i bought some they plugged straight in
Put the pretty blue covers on aswell
Next big puchase was the Redarc duel battery sytem from ARB, fitted by them, i also got them to put a heavier wire on one of the acc outlets in the cab and made this live off the second battry all the time , so i didnt need the key on to charge my phone, Also got them to put a double outlet in the tub for the ARB 60L fridge i was planning on.
I Put a Toyota reverse camera on at this stage cause i couldnt tell where to stop, would always leave a 3ft gap lol.hooked straight into the sat nav, wish i could work out how to turn it on without being in rev..(there's an idea for a thred)
Insert pic later
Then Came the fridge which i was planning to put on a slide only to discover it wouldnt fit under the hard lid, so i just have it straped in for now till the canopy goes on.
insert pic later
Next the snorkle. I got TJM to fit this cause i liked the look of it better than the Safari. Just after this was fitted i found Newhilux.net and after some reading proberly would have gone for the Safari one as it can be faced backwards.
Proberly the most important mod would be the suspension, i went back to ARB on this to get a 2" Old Man Emu Nitro shock and spring kit put on, they talked me into the 400kg springs on the back as i tow and am planning to put alot more wieght over the rear wheels. Ended getting way more lift than they said i would get, i had vibrations on take off.
I grabed a lump of plate from work to put in the tub to get the back down abit till i could get it sorted 5 days later
Took it back to ARB to have the mechanic tell me it wasnt even legal, 35mm to high so we decided to take a leaf out till i put some more wieght on. Ive also put 6mm packers on the center bearing to reduce the tail shaft angle.
Also fitted the ARB compressor while the suspension was getting done, lovley little birthday prezzy from the wifey
Now its been named aswell
Well thats up to this point in time, have it booked into ARB in March for the 140l Long Ranger.
and then
