Btw, what are you going to do to your arb front bar? Are you going to sell it?

Yeah Im pretty pleased that it came in time to try out this weekend. The quality is very good. Better than the XROX but not as well finished as Bud's gear. It came with all the bolts and good instructions and is actually very easy to fit but I recommend getting a mate to help.

Ill post some more closeup pics later today.

Righto, here are some close ups of the way it is fitted.

Basically there are three 12mm High tensile bolts to the Chassis and two 10mm ones underneath.

Is there any chance you can get a fabricator to mod up the rear bar to suit the body lift?
But looks great either way and the Lux is sure getting a lot of love in a short period of time...

Hey Jack,

Yes she's coping a fair bit of attention at the moment. Im on leave and dont have anything to do

Mate I asked MCC 4x4 if they would modify it to suit a 50mm lift and they told it was too hard  I havnt tried any other fabricators yet but that is a good idea. Ill have a phone around. Id ask Buddy but it would be a bit rude as he is making a similar one himself.

Yeah thanks for the picks. I'm always interested in new ideas as to how things work as I will end up doing a lot of the fab work my self due to lack of a decent aftermarket here. And its just fun not to mention cheaper lol. Good work soldier!

Had the pleasure to go wheeling with GIJoe today around the GH Mountains and this rig is even better in the steel! Very nice rig mate, and very capable offroad! Made light work of everything! Hope it all goes well in Melbourne and I will be keeping up with your build thread to see which direction you go next!

Re: GI Joe's buildup Buds Tub Rack

Postby GI Joe on Sun, 19 Feb 2012 11:06 +0000

Hey Guys, just got back from an overnight wheelin trip to Bribie Island ... yeah I know poor me

Anyway I shot out to Bud's yesterday and him and his boys kindly fitted one of his Tub racks. As you can see from the Pics, it fits well with the sports bar and looks great. I went for the dual cab rack even though I have an Xtra cab because I like the fact that it stops short of the end of the tub. Still plenty of room for my spare wheel and a couple of swags though.

I picked up a couple of brackets from ARB to attache my high lift jack and shovel to the rack but it dosent quite fit. Ill have a play with it tomorrow and post a few more rack specific pics for those that may be interested.

Oh and I also got one of Buddy's front bash plates. Thanks heaps for that Matt ;)

Have given her a lot of loving recently and now I need to get back to reality. I need to improve performance so a new exhaust is on the list and with the bigger tyres it just running too fast of road so a diff gear change is on the cards. Got to get the Missus to agree though.
