SWINNYS build.. lockers ordered and 4.1:1 ordered

Postby MarkYounger on Fri, 20 Apr 2012 8:22 +0000

How hard of a job is that? I have a friend who swears he would never open a diff because it is a specialized job. I'm pretty good at most thongs. When the funds become available I figure I could do it just not sure if you need special tools or what.

Chop looks neat. Cutting the V out and bashing it back is the way to go, looks factory :D
$2000 to install lockers? is that doing the gearing aswell?, i payed around $400 for just the rear locker install

yeah should be fine unless you run 40psi over rocks and you end up like a milk shake  , i took my wife 4WD while she was 7 months pregnat, wont do it again (7months in that is) but was all good apart from a wee bit of car sickness :?

you have lockers now so you wont need to fly up hills ect ect

SWINNYS build.. lockers and 4.1:1 ready to be fitted

Postby MarkYounger on Thu, 26 Apr 2012 11:44 +0000

Should be fine as long as it is not a lot. Our road is very bumpy and I have a friend whose wife had to limit riding in the truck as she started having contractions on the road at 6months. (I'm not a doctor but I do work for one) still I would check with your OBGYN

If you doing the gears aswell as lockers id deffently be getting a diff specialist to do it! you will need to make sure all your clearances are correct, pinion depth, crown alligned ect. you dont wanna end up out in the bush with a busted centre thatll cost you more than $2000 to fix the damage
$2000 isnt too bad for lockers and gears to be installed, especially with the front diff of an IFS alot of work just to get it out. $1600 is the cheapest ive ever hurd somone getting gears and lockers installed by ARB

lockers themselves are easy to put into the centres, only gotta re-ajust your back lash

just my 2 bobb anyways :D

loving the truck, very nice
