Hi, was the sr5 tailgate direct bolt up or what do you need to modify to fit the strikers etc?

Re: kempy's hilux

all you need to do is :
1.remove the SR strikers and tailgate
2.install the SR5 strikers. the top hole of new striker goes in the bottom hole of original striker position you will need a 4mm washer between body and striker.
3.drill new bottom hole for new striker and install bolt (remove taillight to get to back of bolt).
4.tailagte hinge is like for like and a direct bolt up with original hardware.

note. i counter sunk the SR5 strikers and used the original SR bolts for a neat flush fitting.

hey mate, wondering if u could tell me what size rim and offset u got on. also what size tyre and how big/wide are your flares. I want to put sum kut snake flares on my sr dcab hilux but not too sure bout the rim offset and tyre size. I got told to go with 0 offset if i wanted to put flares on with a 16x8 and 265-75-16 tyre but the problem is they didnt tell me how wide of flares i shud get.

ive got 0 offset 16x8" rims... 285-75-16 tyre... flares are from utemart they are either 50mm or 55mm wide

0 offset is ok but +10 would be better its just not as easy to find. patrol steel rims woulld be the easiest to find.

will be picking up a set of Dick Cepeks Fun Country tires next week... they seem to get very good reviews and for the price of $330 each i jumped at them.

was quoted $450 for mickey thompson ATZ P3s and the same price for BFG KO2s ... my MTZ were good tires and back then i got them for $380 each.. i would of stuck with mickey thompson but their prices have gone through the roof.

I believe Dick Cepek is now owned by mickey thompson anyway.

Mate I guess it depends on how quickly you want to move it. I spent 6 months watching the market before buying mine, like you say there's a big spread. If you've got a range of prices in mind, try advertising at the higher end first and see what sort of interest you get.

Cheers
Crit
