Danslux build.

Postby Danslux on Tue, 07 Jun 2011 4:51 +0000

Bought a 05 sr extra cab at the start of this year with 70k's on the clock.
Unfortunately this will be a slow build as apprentice rates Arnt that great. Haha.

Mods it already had-
• Cooper discoverer atr's.
• airbag suspension no compressor
• steel tray, toolboxes.

Mods that I've done so far.
• UHF radio.
• alpine DVD headset.
• focal split speakers
• jl audio sub
• kicker amp
• arb air compressor
• 2 gallon tank.
• horn
• rear work light
• rocksliders
• hella spotties.
• airtech snorkel
• Dynamic 15's
• Radial Mudstars 31's
Took the tray off and got rid of all the surface rust. Gave it a fresh coat of paint.

Hopefully getting some height soon.
Have some pics of the snorkel being fitted will throw them up soon.

Thanks Dan

Next was the snorkel.
as asked here are some pics. i will take a better pic inside the engine bay tomorrow "Inassiff".

It was a tough decision between the airtech nd safari. but the airtech won me over. as explained in other threads. Very happy with the final product.

If your short tempered like. you'll come across these little buggers. Recommend picking up some of these. either from toyota, super cheap, repco etc. You'll need 12 of them, should only set u back $15.

Hey m8,put the clips in first and then liner.Grab some 6mm screws with 10mm hexhead.
Then it makes it easier to get the liner out (and you're not breaking the clips).

Just wondering if you had any troubles fitting the snorkel, i've had mine sitting in the shed for 2 months. Bit scared to put it on. But i am not payin $250 for TJM to fit it up.

I have placed the template on the panel and it seams like there is too much room for error. I wonder if TJM use the same paper template

Hey rhodesy.

I know what you mean about "room for error". I had a look at mine beforehand aswell and noticed that. I guess it's all about holding your tongue right. Haha I had to make some minor adjustments on mine. Pays to have a di grinder handy. Also helps to have another set of hands. Got my brother to hold around the holesaw (just incase it decided to try nd run off). All went well though. Comes together pretty easy.

Good luck.
