hilux DIY service / mods

Postby su888 on Tue, 18 Oct 2011 5:35 +0000

Folks, i just picked up my first ute (or even better 06 SR 4x4 diesel hilux) in manual formation with 163,000.

The car has been religiously serviced every 10,000kms.

However, me being me i like to clean it all out and just have it all items attended to as much as possible by myself.

Other the items below, what else can you guys recommend are instant servicable items/mods for the average DIY.

- engine oil/filter
- AC pollen filter
- Air filter
- transmission oil (if easy enough)

Mods
- Rear seat adjustment
- Key chime

With some further mods to come in the following months.

Diffs, and gear box oils are easy to do if they haven't been done lately.

Grease your universal joints/driveshafts.

Do the diffs as well as the trans, the front is a bit of a pain but not too bad. A fuel filter as well would be recommended.

Just had all the driveline oils done in mine, you can actually notice the difference! ;)
Cheers
