new air filter at 10k service ???

toyota just called to replace a new air filter on new hilux.

ive only been to Bourke, NSW twice and did encounter a fair bit of red dust, apart from that just general country driving on some weekends.

what do you reckon??

I'd just have it changed. We do ours every 5000 but it is very dusty. Not too expensive for piece of mind.

yes getting it changed, there keeping the old one in a box for me.

think i will clean now every 5k myself or after dusty trips.

if u dont have a snorkel id say yer it would be full of crap, if u do have 1 then id be doubtfull it would need replacing, i had to replace mine after 5k of dirt and bulldust driving, snorkel for my xmas list !!!!!!!

The air filter is only about $40. Cheap insurance. My dealer replaced mine at 5,000 km after just one offroad outing. I had looked before it went to him and knocked it out. Without a snorkel, they pull in an enormous amount of dust.
